Thelma Todd was a star who's true star potential was never realised. Wish we knew what really happened in that garage in 1934...

Still, we have Thelma and Charley Chase, Thelma and Stan and Ollie, Thelma and Zasu Pitts, and Patsy Kelly.

Thanks for the great pictures of the lovely and versatile Mz Todd.
AND Thanks for you're great Blog Site 'Trouble In Paradise' Very rich and enjoyable!

Just a correction to my comment-It was Dec. 1935 Thelma Todd was gone not 1934, my error.
Anyway she was great.

Fantastic! The two pics from the bottom are especially seductive. Re: slouched shoulders, isn't it curious how sometimes having a straight spine is what's considered attractive, and then slouching becomes sexy? Greta Garbo slouched more than anyone. For some reason that's what I kept noticing in Mata Hari.

Yes, it was December 16th 1935, 71 years ago to the day.

Yes, the Gibson girls look gave way to the flappers slouched posture, which carried over into the depresion era womens posture. The depression era women seemed to also like to place their hands at their hips, thumbs pointed forward. Today, anyone who puts therir hands on their hips always has their thumbs pointing back of them. Garbo did slouch more than anyone. And the other thing I notice about Garbo is that she has very large feet. It's probably from watching the Bugs Bunny cartoon caricatures of Garbo, which always accentuated her slouch and her feet, that put that in my head.

:D I've never noticed her feet! I'll have to keep an eye out for that. Bugs Bunny is always right.
