They're all looking so young here! And I must say Doug Fairbanks Jr. is looking mighty fine in that previous series of photos, reminding me a bit of Ralph Fieness. I had never seen that movie poster with Norma Shearer, it's a great composition.
Yes, they do look young, especially Colbert. Fiennes and Fairbanks, youre right. There's a good image association/celebrity look-alike for ya. Doug Jr. gets more close-ups in that film than Lilyan Tashman and Nancy Carroll put together. Somebody must have liked him. Those heralds are neat to collect, small and usually inexpensive, they were given out as promotion at movie theatres.
Claudette sure strikes a pose--but her beautiful eyes, however young, seem to lack both warmth and sparkle. She must have been thinking about her experience shooting The Hole in the Wall.
Hi Harry, You had a nice trip to London, I see. Colbert also appears quite lean in those photos. Yes, The Hole In The Wall, Im a huge fan of somewhat obscure, early talking pictures, especially from the year 1929.
