Estelle Taylor was married to Jack Dempsey when he lost the heavyweight championship to Gene Tunney. When he came home after the fight Jack said to Estelle, "Honey, I forgot to duck"
I especially love that last bkack dress on Josephine Hutchinson, what a figure she had. And isn't it amazing what they did just with shadows and light in the Anita Page picture?
Hutchinson is really stunning. I never tire of looking at photos from this era. With these full body photos, even with a main subject as eye catching as Anita Page to look at, there is usually always something else interesting going on in the backgound. Even the design on the curtain in the Mae Busch photo looks neat. I wish it was in color. I tried to arrange the photos in order of earliest to latest. I think the Mae Busch is circa 1925, and the Del Rio around 1934. The Josephine Hutchinson photo is circa 1935. I dont know if I got the others correct, but Im guessing the Page and Blane around `31 or `32.
The Colbert shot is an on-the-set photo from her 1933 film "Tonight Is Ours." She wears that art deco clown get-up in the first scene of the film, augmented with a domino mask.

Thats a good line! Estelle eventually became Jack's best sparring partner.
