A BIG weekend for Kay Francis fans.
Authors of the two recent Kay Francis biographies will be appearing this weekend in two seperate events.
From kayfrancis.com: Lynn Kear will give a presentation on Kay Francis at the Stone Mountain, Georgia library on July 15 at 1 PM. Using rare film clips, she will explain why Kay should be rediscovered as an important star from Hollywood's Golden Age. More information is available on the Georgia Center for the Book site. Writer Jana Oliver interviews Lynn Kear on The Curious Mind radio show. Among the topics discussed are why Kay Francis: A Passionate Life and Career was written, what the surprises were, and information about the next Kay Francis book. The show will air beginning Monday, July 10th through July 23rd. Listeners can download the file to their computer or to their MP3 player. If you don’t have the appropriate software, there are links on the site so listeners can download what they need. The software is free. After the 2-week run, the show will be placed in the archives and still be available for download.
Scott O'Brien, author of Kay Francis "I Can't Wait to Be Forgotten" Her Life on Film and Stage will be appearing at the 11th Annual San Francisco Silent Film Festival book signing On Sunday July 16th. The Film Festival will run start today and run to the 16th.

Great News!! Charley Chase Talking Comedy Shorts To Air On TCM
The great, underappreciated comedian Charley Chase might finally start getting his due thanks to TCM's recent 40 year lease of the Hal Roach Library. In addition to the already aired Todd/Pitts and Boy Friends comedy shorts, poster MGMWBRKO on the TCM message board reports that the "Hal Roach - Charley Chase, Musical Comedy, Todd-Kelly and Taxi Boys shorts are on order and will be premiering on TCM over the next 3 - 4 months."
