In her early film roles, on-screen suffering was her specialty. She suffered like nobodys business. I read somewhere that she once said "Paramount Studios paid her by the tear." She was on TV a few nights ago in Mars Attacks - thats what I call a long career!
Thanks for that picture! Ive been on a Sylvia Sidney kick lately. I recently watched her in Mars Attacks, American Tragedy, and Pick-up with George Raft. Boy, did she do a lot of suffering in those last two flicks.
